Construction of Bulgarian Churches Should Be Revived
This was one of the messages of today's meeting between the Minister of Investment Planning Ivan Danov and His Holiness the Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte
"Every era has to leave behind its temples. Our society is in need of centers of spirituality. To build Orthodox Churches - this is an idea that can unite all Bulgarian statesmen."
This was the main message of the meeting between His Holiness the Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte and the Minister of Investment Planning Ivan Danov, held on April 3rd at the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
The representatives of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church proposed creation of national strategy in order to improve the infrastructure to and around the monasteries, so as to facilitate access to them. This includes a vision for establishment and development of routes for the increasingly popular pilgrimage tourism.
Among the other important topics that have been discussed at the meeting were the problems with the ownership related to the Rila Monastery; the role of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church for the integration of minorities; the reconstruction of the building of the Faculty of Theology; collaboration between the Ministry of Investment Planning and the Bulgarian Orthodox Church concerning ambiguities related to Church property, cadaster planning and the urban processes.
"The doors of the Ministry of Investment Planning are always open for you. Whatever we can, we will help", promised Minister Ivan Danov.
